FOR YOUR HEART LIMITING DRINKS COFFE

Eating coffee has become the lifestyle of most of the world society. However, too much to consume it also causes side effects, one of which is cardiovascular disease. Then, what is the safe limit to consume coffee? According to research, drinking six cups of coffee a day will encourage us on health risks.

Research was conducted by scientists from the University of South Australia and led by UniSA researchers, Dr Ang Zhou and Professor Elina Hyppönen of the Australian Centre for Precision Health. Research results claim consumption of six cups of coffee or more, can increase the risk of heart disease by 22 percent.

In this research, researchers are trying to uncover the long-term effects of coffee consumption in relation to cardiovascular disease. More specifically, this study confirms the point at which excess caffeine causes high blood pressure, which triggers heart disease. "Coffee is the most common stimulant consumed in the world and can reliably increase alertness, energy and focus of the mind," said Professor Hyppönen.

Although the benefits have been known to many people, Professor Hyppönen says many people who do not know how much it is safe to consume it. "Most people will agree to drink too much coffee can make someone feel jittery, easy emotions, or even nausea," he added. According to Professor Hyppönen, all of that because caffeine helps the body work faster and harder.

According to research, drinking coffee can improve life expectancy but, there is a high probability that it is also because we have reached the maximum limit in consuming caffeine. We also know the risk of cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure is increased due to excess caffeine consumption.

To maintain a healthy heart and healthy blood pressure, we must limit the intake of coffee to less than six cups a day. Based on Periset data, consuming six cups of coffee is a critical point where caffeine starts to negatively impact cardiovascular risk. The study was conducted by analyzing 347,077 participants aged between 37 and 73 years. "It is estimated that three billion cups of coffee are enjoyed every day around the world," added Prof. Hyppönen.
